WPMark Beta Privacy Notice

This notice explains how we handle your personal data when you sign up for, and take part in, the WPMark beta programme. It is separate from the WPMark plugin itself: the plugin runs on your website and sends us nothing. For how the plugin handles your site's data, see privacy and your data.
Who is responsible
Atul Singh, an individual based in India, trading as atulsingh.co.in, is responsible for your data (the "controller" or "data fiduciary"). Contact for privacy questions, requests and grievances: join@atulsingh.co.in.
What we collect

We don't ask for, and you shouldn't send us, passwords, connection keys or your website visitors' data.
Why we use it, and on what basis

We don't sell your data, use it for advertising profiles, or make automated decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run the programme, under contract. These are our website host, our email service, and GitHub (if you choose to use GitHub issues, which are public). They may process data outside your country, including in India, the EU or the US. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
While the beta programme runs and for 12 months after it ends or after you leave, whichever is sooner. Then we delete it, unless the law requires us to keep something longer, such as a record of your consent. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can:
- access your data, or get a copy;
- correct or update it;
- delete it;
- withdraw consent at any time (this doesn't affect processing before you withdrew);
- object to or restrict processing based on legitimate interests;
- ask for your data in a portable format;
- nominate someone to exercise your rights if you can't (India); and
- complain to a data protection authority. For example: the Data Protection Board of India, your EU or UK supervisory authority, or the authority in your UAE emirate or free zone, Saudi Arabia (SDAIA) or other GCC country.
To exercise any right, email join@atulsingh.co.in. We'll reply within 30 days, or sooner where the law requires. Please contact us first for grievances; we'll try to resolve them quickly.
California and other US state residents: we don't sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. You have the rights above, and we won't treat you differently for using them.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, such as access controls, encrypted connections and two-factor authentication on our accounts. No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities where the law requires it.
Children
The beta programme is for business users aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We'll post updates here with a new date, and email beta members about material changes.
